(1a) Have you read through the Common Suggestions and Answers post? -  Yes

(2) What is your suggestion? - Rename spongify because spongify is the softening charm its ridiculous. New name Alarte Ascendare.

(3) What made you feel that this change was necessary or would make a great addition? - Its just a name. 

(4) What could be possible negatives if your suggestion were to be added? - No negatives!!

In Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, Professor McGonagall describes students using this spell on "floor tiles" to "create makeshift trampolines." This is likely a reference to the spongify tiles in previous Harry Potter video games.

The spell literally does what it’s meant to, Alex. It doesn’t need to literally show the floor getting ‘soft and bouncy’, but the outcome is the caster going higher into the air than usually possible.

Even if this description is wrong, like you said, ‘its just a name’ and it really doesn’t matter.
