"Yeah and your vote is shit, be better".
Not asking for essays, just like, a sentence or two yeah?

Also, the whole 'forum staff would need to be more active' thing. To that I say:
Yeah, good. Okay.

If it gets really bad (it won't) just get more forum staff.

Sometimes the evidence or reasons are just clear as day. Sometimes people say things like, for example in your little compilation of pictures, "+1 Good Christian" because they wish to voice their support on a topic but still have a sense of humor and decide to make a joke. If you don't find it funny that is only on you, others may actually find it funny and entertaining.

I think you are forgetting that when a topic, suggestion, appeal, application, etc. is reviewed, the staff reviewing said post has the full discretion of which responses will influence their decision. There is no rule on the forums that if an appeal gets say 5 +1's that it will be automatically accepted. The reviewing staff has the full discretion of which replies to take into account.

Just let people mind their own business tbh. If this forum becomes more heavily moderated a lot of the community just won't come on here anymore. We are here to have fun, we don't have to be TOO uptight about rules.

Now, although people are making a meme about this thread, I have actually considered making a suggestion similar to this for a while now. One thing I can say that I agree with Ryte on is the fact that when you tend to report thread responses/profiles/posts, you don't get to see any, to a little action done. Sure, I love the forum staff. They help out a lot. Only issue is, people needs things such as this dealt with.

I want to say that the only issue I have with this thread is that people made small jokes and got forum banned. I understand that you want to express an issue Ryte, I am glad you have brought attention to it as others was afraid to, but, it's not that bad.

Overall, I don't see any negatives to staff being a bit more strict and having to deal with those sorts of reports. I think Gina (I think it was Gina at least) made a good point when he suggested maybe more active forum staff who could deal with these trivial things.

Heart +1 for me! Thank you for your suggestion! Heart

I think they already do but they should enforce it more because then people can’t randomly +1 because the player is their friend or -1 because they feel like it.

Straight -1, not all of us have the brain capacity to write out entire essays or letters of love to you Ryte, most of us are mentally stunted, made obvious by the fact that we're all like what 20 something or around that age and we're playing literally magic and fantasy or sci fi roleplay meant for the younger audiences

Ironic how you think I want essays and love letters, but you also state people aren't capable of doing it. I think the issue is not being able to comprehend or understand what is being suggested, with a clear example shown from your post.

Guess you are right, 90% of people who play garrys mod are just not capable of grasping common sense in the difference between voting without a reason/meme reasons VS"hE jUsT wAnTs MoRe EsSaYs LuL -1"

I agree with what Gina has said. This suggestion is a good idea and I think it needs to be put in place as people do put votes without reasons and I think a reason needs to be added when voting, or at least a little reason to show why they have voted (a sentence or two? Like Gina said.) because if people are voting on Applications etc without a good enough reason then it isn't valid.

I agree with what Ryte has said and I think it should be put in place.

The amount of times I see posts which are either
A) Only a vote with 0 reason at all. You don't need to write a essay but like 1 sentence would do. If you're going to put forth the effort to cast an opinion give more than 2 characters as to why you're doing so.
B) Some obviously troll votes.. Like you'll see someone get get reported for some friendly mic spam and someone will vote '+1 Perma ban this guy he is a disgrace upon the entire community!' or there will be a report with no evidence at all posted so of course everyone votes -1 no evidence but there is always that 1 guy who thinks they are funny and will say '+1 Evidence is clear'.

There are a handful of names that come to mind (I will not state them here as to not call anyone out) who's votes when I see on something I don't even feel I should consider an actual vote due to obvious trolling and/or lack of response.

Some people will complain you deleted/removed/ignored their vote but put a little effort into it! You don't need to write some massive essay or paragraph just add a sentence maybe two.
