New Rule clarification (grey area rescuing 10)

Quote:10.) You may chase the Auror (if you're Dark Forces) if they are to successfully rescue, but you must cease once they pass the forest boundaries.
Had some words with a mod earlier so I wanted to clarify. The new rule is designed to stop people who are in the graveyard from pursuing past the boundary- this much is clear. This in part likely has to do with the fact that you are always revealed in the GY/forest/QP, and your number one priority is to always retreat to these places when revealed. Pursuing someone outside of these places can be considered a breach of that rule.

What I had issue with is when I asked if a rogue, who is concealed and is unrelated to the rescue scenario, is allowed to take the opportunity to kill the rescuing auror once they are out of the forest (in the field, outer cy, school, etc. anywhere but Dumbledore's office, an active classroom, and RS). I was categorically told no, until I pressed and got a "maybe?"

My case is: how can the rogue DF(or AN) person, unrelated to the rescue scenario, possibly know that the snatch was rescued from the GY? This rule gives rescuing aurors a false sense of security- how can a rogue with no information know if someone has been rescued from the graveyard, or rescued in the field? Are we to assume that the auror is allowed to take a victory lap with the rescued student without the threat of being killed due to this new rule?

There needs to be some sort of statement on this, we've been told you can assassinate the rescuing auror if not revealed to take a snatch- this tactic has been met with pushback from people wishing to enforce this new rule.

We've also been told that the boundary for revealed persons to no longer pursue an auror with a rescued snatch was the school itself. This seems to be undone with the addition of this rule as it pertains to GY rescues, -field rescues remain the same

To help illustrate the specific scenario I made a crude depiction below.

I don't think the Rogue or any Dark Forces should be involved in the rescue unless they are in the GY when it happens. For me, once an Auror is past the QP/DF boundaries with the students it's over for whoever had him snatched or was involved in the killing of the Auror in the Graveyard. It would be unfair having someone camping in Hogwarts, waiting for the Auror and the rescued student. If they were not involved in the rescue attempt, they shouldn't go after the Auror, especially if he passed those boundaries.

That rogue doesn't know whether or not the auror bought the students(has buyers protection) or just rescued. If they're already past the forest boundary, they're safe and bringing the student back to the school. No one should be attacking the auror.

It's not really a grey area, I feel like it's common sense not to pull out avada in a situation you know nothing about????

That is correct what Ariel said
In this instance the auror should not have been killed as they are now safe after passing the forest boundaries.
This wouldn't be classified as a grey area, as Grey areas are gaps in between two specific rules.

Are you pleased with the resolution of this concern? Are there any further questions you'd like to ask? If no then this thread will be closed at the end of today.

Buyer's protection is applicable when the captor adverts someone is sold via owlpost, if not broadcasted via owlpost then buyer's protection shouldn't be assumed active- part of the point of OP is to make these transactions official.
