These Volunteer Staff Application Terms & Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity (“you”) and Star by Star Gaming ("Company", “we”, “us”, or “our”), concerning your volunteer services on any of our services and or platforms such as and not limited to, our website, game servers, any other media form, media channel, console or PC application, mobile website or mobile application related, linked, or otherwise connected thereto. You agree that by posting this application and or responding to application question (1.) with "Yes, I do agree to these terms and conditions.", you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all of these terms and conditions. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ALL OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, THEN YOU ARE EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED FROM APPLYING FOR A VOLUNTEER STAFF POSITION AND YOU MUST DISCONTINUE YOUR APPLICATION PROCESS IMMEDIATELY.

We reserve the right to remove or let go of any volunteer staff member for any reason and at any time at our sole discretion.

Any and all actions, including and not limited to, player and or user punishment, such as issued bans or otherwise on our game servers, websites, or other platforms, as well as any statements made by you, or any behavioral misconduct, does not express the views of Star by Star Gaming and are conducted at your sole discretion. You agree that all of these are of your own and you withhold full personal responsibility. Your actions, behavior, and or statements will be taken or given at your sole discretion and you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless, including our subsidiaries, affiliates, and all of our respective officers, agents, partners, contractors, volunteers, volunteer staff, and employees, from and against any loss, damage, liability, claim, or demand due to the outcomes of your actions, statements, and or behaviors while performing volunteer staff services for Star by Star Gaming.

(1b.) What is your RP Rank and Loyalty Rank? (You must be at least Silver 1 Loyalty Rank to apply for staff.) - Ensign and Champion.

(2.) In which time zone do you reside? - EST.

(2a) Please provide the hours of the day that you are the most active on the Halo RP server according to CST (Chicago, US), so the managers and staff know when they can expect to see you. -On weekdays, before 5 pm and after 9 pm. Weekends I am usually completely free. Though I am normally always available on discord to talk, since I have quite a bit of free time at work most days.

(3.) What is your age? - 21

(4.) Approximately, when was the first time that you joined our Halo RP server and how did you initially discover it? - March 19th, 2019. I was looking for a server to play on, and I recognized the SBS branding from previously playing on Hogwarts Rp.

(4a) How can we be certain that you will remain active on the server upon being accepted for a volunteer staffing position? - Good question, hard times are indeed upon us. But I'm not willing to give up without giving one last try. So I suppose the answer to this question is that I have a strong refusal to give up, so I plan on sticking around for however long I can.

(4b) Do you understand that you can be let go at any time for excessive inactivity at our discretion? - Yes.

(5.) Do you understand and agree to not only comply with, but also enforce the rules of the server when necessary? - Yes.

(5a) When listing the 7 basic rules, please explain what they each mean to convey to us that you understand and comprehend them wholly.
List Rules below:
1:No FailRP - Being unable to preform as your character should, I.e. a Private acting as a Commander or a Medic refusing to Heal.
2:Respect Staff and other Players - Show others the common courtesy that would be expected towards another human being. Don't be rude.
3:No RDM - No Random Death Match, killing others for no reason, unless its for an Rp reason.
4:Obey Staff and Role-play leader(s) - Listen to the commands given, as this is a Military based server so you will be expected to follow orders. As for staff, if they tell you to do something its for good reason and it should be taken as such.
5:No Meta-Gaming - No bringing out of character information into an Rp situation.
6:Do not Mic/Chat spam - Don't send messages at a nonstop pace and don't have your mic constantly on and talking obnoxiously loud or for long periods of time.
7:Do not avoid the AFK system - Don't use any software or computer modification that prevents you from being removed from the server just to gain time on the server.

(6.) Tell us a little about yourself and why you would like to be accepted for a volunteer staffing position on SBS. (100 words or less) - Well as this is a Highcom application, I should answer accordingly. I wish to pick up on the workload in the Rp management aspect of the server, I have experience in this area and wish to help in what way I can. Not really much to explain besides that aspect.

(7.) In your opinion, which quality of yourself do you feel that you need to improve on the most? - Stubbornness, though it's not as bad as it used to be, and I have made improvements on it.

(7a) In your opinion, which skill set of yours do you feel that you need to improve on the most? - Activity, for sure.

(8.) How would having you on our volunteer staff team benefit our server and what qualities set you apart from the rest of the applicants? - I am unbiased, compared to most. I don't let my feelings get in my way of getting what work needs to be finished, as a Security Force officer that tends to be a big part of the job. I wish to make the player experience better as it has been seen to be lacking for some people/battalions. I feel as though I can help change that.

(9.) Have you ever previously maintained a game server staffing position, or currently are, on any other Garry's Mod servers? If so, which ones, and in which staffing positions? (List them if possible) - I've been a mod twice on SBS Halo Rp and have been an admin twice, currently am an admin at this moment.

(10.) Have you ever previously been banned on any Garry's Mod or SBS servers? If yes, then please list approximately when, how long, and the reasoning(s). - No.

(11.) In your opinion, are the server staff or the players of more importance? Why? - They both have their role, one is not more important than the other. The players keep the server alive and the staff team makes sure that they are kept within orderly conduct of the rules. A server without staff is no more than a sandbox and a server without players isn't much of a server at all. - This is the same answer as my mod application, my answer on this subject hasn't changed so I used it again.

(12) How would you rate your skills overall out of 10 (E.g., patience, response time, etc.) -

If you find yourself in a 'staff-sit' where you're unsure of how to fairly distribute punishment and or handle the situation or discrepancy at hand, what do you do? - Ask for any other staff members assistance, be it requesting them to get on or asking the ones who are already on. As the staff team is a "team" after all, you should be able to rely on others. This works the same way it would for Officers and other High Command, so this question still feels validated.

(14.) You both understand and realize, that by applying for a volunteer staffing position on the server, you are sacrificing the complete freedom of being able to role-play and or socialize freely all the time without any interruptions, and are obligated to handle all server issues and or volunteer staff position tasks at hand no matter the situation and to the best of your abilities? - Yes.

(15.) If applicable, please provide a list of all your previous volunteer staff applications, provide a link to them if possible, and list any reasons why they may have been locked. Mann, I know we've had some disputes in the past (way back) and I've come here to comment on this application and wish you good lock, as I believe you wouldn't do a bad job I just believe the HIGHCOM idea is flawed because of the fact it has failed with every single person that has achieved this rank has failed, I'm not here to say "Oh its all gonna change the second you get in here and your gonna change everything" because that simply isn't the case. but of all the people that have applied I believe that you are the most qualified as I've seen you lead before and you are extremely qualified to lead with many attributes of a leader, however I have seen lacking elements within your activity otherwise +1 to neutral.

Saint/Mann/Blaskowitz is a good pick for the role.

He's able to solve issues between people effectively and stop conflicts easily. He's got good leadership being CO of multiple battalions such as BIOWAR and now SF. He approachable and easy to speak with. He's fair and level headed.

He's lost his cool with only one person since knowing him, and he's been inactive recently.

However, seeing his activity before I have no doubt that won't be a big issue.

I think he'd be a good choice for HIGHCOM personally.

I would start small and host small joint operations for the officers to do, most likely in groups of two to start until everyone does well enough to do larger groups, giving them both an objective that requires their skills to complete said objective, or tell the two officers to work together on making a joint training that they can get their men to work on together. Yes, being a Security Force Officer has it's benefits, it teaches you that being biased will only make your job harder and it teaches you how do work with others. As Security Force you need to be flexible, with skills that can assist you with keeping people calm while also providing disciplinary action. You learn self control, as you're in an easily abuseable position to which I can thankfully say I've never abused my equipment at hand. Being an Officer for Hellbringers way back in the day also had it's benefits, it taught me how to deal with unruly people as Hellbringers were essentially a magnet for those types of people. As a Hellbringer I couldn't just solve my issues with just arresting them for doing ignorant things, I learned how to get better acquainted and how to speak with people one on one.

3. What are a few things you would want to improve during your time as highcom?

1.) Communication is the biggest one, I'd say. Like I said above, I'd like to host small meetings at least once a month to try and get Officers to talk to each other more often. Communication is the biggest reason issues occur during events from my personal experience.

2.) A better and more enjoyable work environment, with organization being key. Quality of life changes to each battalion that would benefit them in what way it could to make them more effective and enjoyable, albeit I can't via coding as that is Dell's position and I can't code to save my life, you don't always need that to make something work. Talking to people about their concerns and listening to their problems could help pinpoint any reasoning for unhappy behavior.

3.) Self improvement of each Officer so that they could in turn trickle down into their battalion via better trainings and on-field leadership. To do good, someone has to be taught, natural talent can only get you so far, we have Officers who are great leaders and some who are lacking, I believe those who are lacking can do great things if pushed in the right direction.

4. How would you solve a dispute between two officers?
This will depend on the severity of the dispute as no two disputes will ever be the same, unless by the same people themselves. If this is a small dispute that is mainly just bickering between both sides I would pull them both aside, hear out both sides of the argument, and let them know what their doing isn't beneficial. I would do my best to fix whatever issue they would have, if it was within my power or in the realm of possibility. If this was a much larger dispute, aka constant arguing and constant hateful messages and in-game fights, it would lead to disciplinary action on both parties involved, obviously I would speak with both of them on why this is occurring in the first place, but action would have to be taken against the two, reminding them that they need to be professional and need to lead by example. The punishment would be discussed between other members of Highcom so I cannot say what it would be for a predicament such as this.

5. How would you work on a project with an officer who does not want to work with you?
I would speak with them personally as I like the more direct approach, and listen to their issues with me at hand, often times some people just want their voices to be heard so I want to take a step in the right direction with them. As people will be bound to hate you no matter what you do, if I could not coax them into working with me then I would try and maybe pull another member of Highcom to the side and try and do the same, preferably try to have them convince the uncooperative person that what I'm doing is helping more than hurting as my goal at the end of the day is to assist where I am needed. Some people just won't work with you at times and you need to prepare for that, if they aren't willing to work with anyone then they themselves are being problematic and should be dealt with accordingly. As they hierarchy which is Officers and above should work together as a team since lone wolfing gets you nowhere as a leader and can lead to disarray.

When I was a GM and a CPO for Security Force on Halo, Mann did a lot of great things both as an Officer and a staff member. He has good leadership abilities, he knows how to stay calm in tough situations and he has the right attitude for High Command. As CPO, underneath his command in the past, he did well, he helped me out, he made sure SF was running smoothly and he lead missions pretty well. He's also been the CO of many battalions such as Hellbringers, BIOWAR and is now the CO of SF and from what I've seen, he does well and is still probably doing well now.

I dont disagree with this sentiment, the position of HIGHCOM has had different definitions with each individual person that has taken up the job. Im saying the job for Elios as highcom was different from the job that Aura had to fill. Same goes with when I took up the job. As the server stands at this moment, I believe that the role will be close to what I had to deal with. Lack of leadership and attempting to rebuild a foundation. I believe that Mann is up to the task. +1

I got nothing but respect for Mann. He's a hard-working individual who understands and does what is expected of him, and more. I believe that Mann would make for a good HIGHCOM despite the terrible position that it is. He has a whole-hearted +1 from me.
