(4a) How can we be sure you will stay active and loyal (with your time) to Star by Star? - I've been here for ages. Hopefully my time here, as well as my previous investments in the community, show my loyalty.

(5.) Tell us about yourself and why you want to be Marshal Commander on SBS? (100 words or less) - I am Lee. I have been here for too long. I want to be an astron- marshal commander, because I feel comfortable with the server again and now would like to help bring positive change. I've been in every position I could ever want on the server, so at this point I'm not too interested in where I end up, just that I am able to help the most. This is besides this application, but I also would like to see about helping the gamemaking scene once more. I'm excited to see how far the server can go, as always; but more than that, I'm eager to employ my experience in meaningful ways. I enjoy leadership, I enjoy management, and I love a job well done.

(6.) What do you feel you need to improve on the most? -
I feel confident in myself, so I wouldn't say there's anything I'm particularly lacking in. However, I will say that I'm always trying to improve my social skills, patience in particular. Given my contrasting ideas, I have to work extra hard for people to trust me at times.

(7.) In your opinion, what sets you apart from the rest of the applicants for Marshal Commander? - I have extensive experience with managing battalions, teams, everything. I'm responsible for designing 95% of the Jedi Order, I'm responsible for the coming Naval update, I was responsible for the helper system (before new management butchered the system and rendered it useless), and a handful of other things. I've got ideas for how to improve the server and I'm eager to employ them.

(8.) Do you have any experience being a commander, officer and/or being a leader of any type of Roleplay Group, battalion, Company, etc? If so, please state what the experience was and where you got it from. - I have been Galactic Marine CO, Engineer CO, 212th CO, and Jedi Lead on this current iteration of the server. Before, I have been Navy Lead, Engineer CO (again), Wolfpack CO, and on other servers I have been Galactic Marine CO (again), Combat Engineer CO, and Jedi Lead (again).

(9.) Have you ever been banned on any Garrys Mod/SBS servers? If yes, then please list when, how long, and the reason. - Yes. I've been banned ages ago on DarkRP servers for minging.

(11.) Please describe two or more situations you may find yourself in as a Marshal Commander while leading in an event, organizing a battalion, doing training, etc, and how you would deal with it:

Incompetent Commander - If a commander does not meet the required standards, there will need to be consultation with them on what needs improved. If improvement does not come within a set time frame, their second-in-command will be contacted for their opinion on their commander, and also will be asked whether they are comfortable potentially becoming a CO. If a commander ultimately does not meet expectations, they will be removed or demoted after giving concrete criteria for what they need to improve on. This criteria would be concrete in the sense that it can be objectively measured, therefore it's not a subjective judgement deciding removal in the end, but something 'concretely' determined. Factors in criteria would things such as activity, objectively-designed training (does not have an active host, everything is set up ahead of time), or field performance.

Event Leadership - During events, I will simply delegate battalions towards certain tasks. As what is effectively an "overseer" my primary goal is just to ensure that there is adequate organization and direction given during missions. I'm not one to try and take away agency from high-ranking officers.

Incompetent Battalion - In the event that an entire battalion has been found incompetent, the first thing to do is to ask "why." Usually, there's an issue in the system for how leadership is chosen, or how the battalion inherently functions, which points towards why the battalion has devolved to such a point. So, before anything else, always examine what checks, balances, and structures you have in place before moving onto the "people" problem. If the system cannot be better adapted, then you will have to address issues with a battalion's leadership directly. In events such as this, it's important to include the NCOs as well, as they have much more intimate influence with the battalion than realized. Make sure the battalion understands the issues as a whole, and let them try to address the problem(s) on their own. If the problem(s) persists, then try and help them along, giving further guidance. If they truly will not or cannot improve, then executive action must be taken. Final actions should almost always be decided on objective criteria, as explained in the "Incompetent Commander" section, where the subjects are judged by objective, determinable criteria as to whether they have failed or succeeded at meeting expectations.

Systems and Gameplay Reforms - I've got a lot of reforms in mind for the server, almost all of which are targeted at bringing better, more consistent roleplay. It's important to bring roleplay that players will enjoy, and making a system where that roleplay is depended on is vital to preserving roleplay. Just as in the real military, a sergeant has other duties when off the battlefield. He/she might man the armory, perform exercises for their division/regiment, etcetera. In this way, there are multiple avenues that can be taken to help redo how players interact with roleplay and, in turn, each other. Beyond that, I do foresee myself working in tandem with gamemakers to ensure that events reflect a healthier roleplay environment, as well more satisfying, meaningful gameplay. While the position of Marshal Commander is primarily an assistant to the Server Manager, I see it also as a great opportunity to employ experience and talent to freshen the server and, hopefully, bring it higher than ever before.

Before I close out my application, I'd like to end on a closing note: My ambitions as Marshal Commander are NOT to clamp down on standards and force people into more rigid routine. After a long time, I don't think that a long-term plan can force anyone to do anything. Most if not everyone should understand and accept a plan if it's going to bring good, enduring change. Furthermore, roleplay is not some arbitrary cure-all that, if everyone just abided by it, it'd do miracles. Roleplay also must be widely understood and accepted in whatever form it comes in, otherwise it will fail. That is why, as Marshal Commander, I hope to bring about reforms that are well-liked and well-known. In order to establish these things, active relationships must be formed with leaders on the server, and a receptive attitude must be adopted.

+1 Lee is a great leader and has wonderful ideas and he has passion. I've known him for a long time and I would love to see him as the role
