- Yes, I do agree and accept these terms and conditions

(1a) What is your most recent or commonly known in-game name or alias? -

- Octavious Cannoli

(1b) What is your current year level in-game? (MUST be at least 7th year to apply.) -

- Fourth Year, First Prestige

(2.) In which time zone do you reside? -

- United States Eastern Standard Time

(2a) Please provide the hours of the day that you are the most active on the Hogwarts RP server according to CST (Chicago, US), so the managers and staff know when they can expect to see you. -

- I get on after work, which in CST time would be around 5pm - 11pm depending on what the days following have in store.

(3.) What is your age? -

- I am 23 years old.

(4.) Approximately, when was the first time that you joined our Hogwarts RP server and how did you initially discover it? -

- I found the server approximately 3 years ago when studying in college. I was on the search for a server that pertained to Hogwarts/Harry Potter. I logged in and fell in love simultaneously and played on and off for the time being.

(4a) How can we be certain that you will remain active on the server upon being accepted for a volunteer staffing position? -

- I enjoy sepnding time with new people and getting to know them. Some of my friendships carried on through to other games and other means of contact through the server.

(4b) Do you understand that you can be let go at any time for excessive inactivity at our discretion? -

- I understand.

(5.) Do you understand and agree to not only comply with, but also enforce the rules of the server when necessary? -

- I understand and will enforce rules accordingly.

(5a) When listing the 10 basic rules, please explain what they each mean to convey to us that you understand and comprehend them wholly.
List Rules below:

1: No FailRP: Do not attempt to take part in actions that result in breaking code of conduct within a roleplaying server (i.e. having a name that is a reference to something, being disruptive or irritating/irrational to those around you intentionally, breaking rules as
2: Disrespect, Hatespeech, or Offensive Behavior isn't tolerated on the server: Using words that will provoke violence from another party, as well as taking part in acts that would naturally be deemed un-acceptable to those around you (i.e. racism, sexism, bigoted behavior,)
3: No RDM (Random Deathmatch): RDM is defined as killing another player at random (i.e. if a player is minding their own business and a spell is shot that causes another player to die, the player that cast the spell just RDM'd said player that died. There are acceptations to the rule however if a person is being snatched and someone gets hit by the crossfire, then both parties are not to fault for it was a misunderstanding)
4: Obey Staff/Roleplay Leaders: There is a hierarchy withing the roles of HogwartsRP that can be found in game, that dictates those above said role that you are playing as. The player must obey these people as they are concidered "Roleplay Leaders" and shall be addressed and obeyed as such. Staff members triumph over these "Roleplay Leaders" and must be obeyed if a player is doing something that they should not be doing. Failure to do so also breaked rule #1 and may result in a warning if not a greater punishment.
5: No Free-Spelling: Freespelling is defined as using a projectile spell that disables, disorients, or debilitates the target at hand. Some examples of  of freespelling are, but are not limited to: Mostro, Confringo, Avada Kadabra. These spells and those alike are meant to cause harm to the player and are considered freespelling. Although, freespelling is also not always a hurtful spell. Some examples are, but are not limited to: Expelliarmus, Descendo.
6: No Meta-Gaming: Meta-Gaming is the use of outside information to give a player a greater advantage at the game (i.e. Discord calls to track down a player when you and your friends are snatchers instead of using PM's or Chat)
7: No Mic/Chat Spam: Mic spamming is defined as holding down you microphone (push to talk) and spewing excessive comments, sound, or repetitive comments without breaking in between. Music playing is also not allowed, as it is considered mic spam as well as copyright could come into play for those streaming. There are certain roles that allow for music (Guitar Character) although unless stated otherwise, there is no music to be played. Chat spam is typing comments repetitively or consistently without time to break.
8: Owl Post is for RP Purposes Only: Owl-Post is an in game chat that is to be used for announcements and other important information and should not have content that is unrelated within its parameters (i.e. a prefects reason for detention, students being sold, PTS Active in classrooms)
9: No Erotic Roleplay (ERP): Nothing erotic or sexual is to be discussed on the server in general. Anything that may be deemed as ERP is to be reported and dealt with by either a prefect at the time, or a staff member. ERP is not a reason to RDM a student, regardless of what the circumstances are.
10: No Cheating or Exploitation of any Kind: A player may not use certain aspects that were not meant to be in the server as a means to gain an advantage as a player. One major example that happens constantly is players setting their keyboards to make periodic movements in order to not get kicked from the server and farm XP to advance their levels in the school. Getting caught using these exploits will result in a warning, if not more severe if not stopped.

(6.) Tell us a little about yourself and why you would like to be accepted for a volunteer staffing position on SBS. (100 words or less) -

- Work is tough and this server is relaxing. I enjoy meting new people and helping those in need of guidence and a reliable social figure to give them the strength they need to keep moving forward. I would like to be accepted because I feel as though I bring a lot of humor and joy to those I speak to regularly, as well as give the help needed for new players to want to keep playing.

(7.) In your opinion, which quality of yourself do you feel that you need to improve on the most? -

- I need to improve on my ability to trust others without a reason to. I typically give people my trust until it is violated, where as typically it is the other way around. It's a curse for getting played and becoming gullible, although I am working on bettering myself.

(7a) In your opinion, which skill set of yours do you feel that you need to improve on the most? -

- I need to improve on being able to get straight to the point. I sugar coat in the beginning and then drop whatever is needed to be said. This causes a bit of trust to be gained, but even more lost when they find out not everything is okay.

(8.) How would having you on our volunteer staff team benefit our server and what qualities set you apart from the rest of the applicants? -

- I like to see both sides of a story and hear people out. I don't like to blame a person for their actions without figuring out if what I am blaming them for is a just cause and reason.

- I am a kind hearted soul gaining thrill in seeing others happy.

- I don't hold grudges or poor taste, I think everyone deserves second chances to an extent. No one deserves to be miserable without having a proper reason to be.

(9.) Have you ever previously maintained a game server staffing position, or currently are, on any other Garry's Mod servers? If so, which ones, and in which staffing positions? (List them if possible) -

- I have not maintained any staff position

(10.) Have you ever previously been banned on any Garry's Mod or SBS servers? If yes, then please list approximately when, how long, and the reasoning(s). -

- I have never been banned

(11.) In your opinion, are the server staff or the players of more importance? Why? -

- I would argue they are both equally important. There is a balance between power and playability and without one, there can not be the other. While there are students and no staff, the power begins to flow though the student, shrouding them and their choses for not being taken accountable for their actions by a staff member. The inverse, if a staff member is online and being to harsh, there would be an imbalance of power to playability, for the students wouldn't want to play for fear of consequence for the littlest things.

(12) How would you rate your skills overall out of 10 (E.g., patience, response time, etc.) -

- Patience (8)

- Response Time (10)

- Interest (8)

- Accountability (10)

- Understanding (9)

(13.) If you find yourself in a 'staff-sit' where you're unsure of how to fairly distribute punishment and or handle the situation or discrepancy at hand, what do you do? -

- I would ask the other staff if my handling of the sit would be appropriate. I typically follow the mentality of figuring things out for my self and then asking others if this is the correct approach to doing so. Although this is unconventional, it results in having an answer to start with as opposed to trying to come up with one on the spot. All information given will be taken from the staff and my answer and decision will be adjusted accordingly. If there are no staff online, a warning will be issued, the situation will be documented and reported to other staff for future complaints about said other player.

(14.) You both understand and realize, that by applying for a volunteer staffing position on the server, you are sacrificing the complete freedom of being able to role-play and or socialize freely all the time without any interruptions, and are obligated to handle all server issues and or volunteer staff position tasks at hand no matter the situation and to the best of your abilities? -

- I understand

(15.) If applicable, please provide a list of all your previous volunteer staff applications, provide a link to them if possible, and list any reasons why they may have been locked. If they were previously accepted, please provide a short explanation of why you are no longer volunteer staff at the time of this application. (Disregard if this is your first application) -

- N/A

Thank you for taking the time to read over my application, and if more information is needed that what is provided, please feel free to contact me directly as I will be able to provide more than is listed. It is also nice to have a conversation with other when questions are had as not to spread misinformation or only represent part of a situation.

Well, first to start off you've used the wrong format for you application. (I see you fixed that) Second of all, I know me and a lot of other people on the server have had unpleasant experiences with you personally. You genuinely make other girls on the server uncomfortable (I won't go into detail) Third of all, a lot of people complain about the way you prefect and you tend to really rule with a bit of an iron fist. I rarely see you teach and have never seen you hold a prefect meeting or a great hall.

I'll be honest, I don't really know who you are besides a few interactions more recently.

What I have noticed is that you seem to get frustrated quite easily over minor situations. As a staff member you tend to run into sits that can be very frustrating (simple name changes, disrespect).  During these you have to be able to see it through without letting your emotions get the best of you.  It's okay to be a strict prefect, but not if it's out of manageable frustration.

I'd be interested to see the following:

-Great Hall (how you deal with a large group of people)
-Teaching
Generally just more interactions with larger groups of people (who aren't just your friends)

Your explanation of the rules seems very to the book.  It would be nice to see you add some more examples of situations that happen on the server.

I'm going to be neutral for the time being until I've had some more exchanges with you.

First of all I'd like to say thanks for being interested in a staff position. There's a couple things I'd like to address to you from my experiences with you so that way moving forward you can improve on it while your application is up.

You prefect a lot which is great. When I was playing prefect a lot something that others don't take into account is that prefects are there to guide and not punish unless its necessary. What I mean is it's always good to help newer players if you see that situation seems to fit such as showing others where their proper classes are and helping them with any questions they have. By helping newer players you'll be able to grow with the community in a positive way. This is one way to grow your leadership capabilities.

Second way to grow your leadership capabilities is by communicating with other prefects by hosting prefect meetings when free time is available. Communication is vital when becoming staff and informing other prefects the way to go about playing such role. This also ties with what I had mentioned about helping newer players. Hosting prefect meetings can help other prefects when they ask you questions about certain scenarios that come about.

Lastly, you'll need to teach more classes and host great hall meetings. We need to see from you how you go about handling situations when there's a large mass of players and how you go about informing them of teaching material and explaining the rules during great hall.

This application is a -1 from me but I'll be changing my vote overtime depending on how you improve on what I've said. Good luck with your application.

Thanks for the feedback I appreciate it.

I understand that there is a lack of me teaching, although I try to pick up a teacher whenever I can. There are a bunch of instances where I do teach, I've just been keeping away while I was a younger student in order to build up my spellbook.

I continue to teach more and more as well as interacting with more of the community.

I'm trying to be around and show more, the only thing is that I get out of work and pop on here for a couple hours, and in those hours I'm typically dealing with students as a prefect when there aren't a lot present.

I take what you said to heart, and I'd be glad to show you what I am capable of.

I took it upon myself to get on the server for a few hours the other night and honestly dude, you're a terrible prefect.
You arrest people who show up to class late and ask a simple question because PTS is active. You should ALWAYS be giving people warnings to remind them when PTS is active especially if they're late for class. (Could literally just be signing on and didn't see the OP for PTS) It seemed like you were letting things slide (such as free spelling) with specific people who I can assume are your friends while arresting newer players.
If you're gonna be strict on rules, be strict on everyone, including your friends. If not try to be more laid back and chill. It's one thing to want to enforce rules but the main thing to aim for are the heavy rule breaks such as hate speech n what not.
until then...
My vote for now is a -1 but i'll keep my eyes open to see if there's any improvement.

Thanks for the feedback, although I'm a bit curious as to what you were referring to.

Almost always I give warnings if not multiple to those who are blatantly breaking rules. I even go as far as to assign how many warnings were given when arrested.

To be honest, I don't recall anything you're talking about because it doesn't sound like something that I would do, although I'm not going to disprove any of it because it's slipping my mind right now. If you want to talk in PM's about this I'd be happy to reply, but again, I just don't know what you are talking about.

I was on the other day while you were on the server and it was PL. You enforced rules and put players in detention while you broke rules yourself. You also released a prefect that I'd put in detention and then later questioned him on why he'd released multiple people from detention.

Hey!

So I'm honestly not sure who you are, maybe because my activity hasn't been the best this past week. But all I can suggest is get your name out there more. Host some great halls and teach some classes. The other comments are a little worrying but that's always something you can improve on. As i said try and get your name known to the community more and people might see you in a better light.

Neutral for now but I'll keep an eye out for you and maybe come back to change my vote.
