No, my whole post is about mods going out of their way to pull people that they see do something in the kill feed. Not every kill needs to be turned into a sit. Especially one that causes no problems at all. It shouldnt be kill = pull. it should be kill + report = pull. If it's actually hindering other peoples' gameplay or pissing others off, then its worth doing a sit for. Otherwise it seems arbitrary

If we see a student kill another student in the kill feed, we're gonna pull them and inform them of the rules, that they can't be doing that. You can disagree with that all you want, but in the end you're breaking the rules that you agreed to when you decided to play on our server. And if you break the rules, you're gonna be pulled to a sit.

I can understand what you're saying and you're free to have your opinion on the matter, but regardless, staff are gonna tell players off if they're breaking rules. It doesn't matter if they're having fun. We have rules for a reason.

I'm just glad you actually understand the point. So many people are completely missing the point that it's getting frustrating.

What is the "reasons" for the rules though? just trying to get more information. I feel like the point of the rules is to make sure others are having fun and dont get annoyed or pissed off. Correct me if i'm wrong though

In the real word, people can't just murder each other for no reason. They can't just kill each other to have fun. So, because this is a roleplay server, you're supposed to act like a person in real life (although, in the wizarding world obviously). If you get sent off to a boarding school, and you meet a new friend, maybe you like to roughhouse with them, that's fine. But you wouldn't just straight up murder another student for fun.
So, our server being a roleplay server, you can't just kill a fellow student (or someone on the same team), just because it's fun. So that would be a rulebreak for rule 3 no RDM, and technically it would also be fail rp (which is rule 1) because of what I stated above.

We also have new life rule on our server, which basically, if you die, you don't have any knowledge of who killed you (because you died, this is a new life) and you can't return to the same rp scenario. So if someone DID kill you(within the rules mostly), you can't just return and kill them as well either.

If this was a non-roleplay server, then murdering each other would be fine, but if you go on any roleplay server, you're gonna be met with if not the same, similar rules.

Edit: edited some clarification on some of my wording.

Thanks for the clarification. I do however think that any public roleplay server needs to have some leniency with enforcement of the rules otherwise it will drive the playerbase away. That's why i'm saying that if a small rule break doesn't cause any actual problems, it shouldn't be made into a problem. That's all

I can understand where you're coming from but you have to understand that as staff, we hear the excuse "But I saw them doing it so I thought it was fine" from players all the time lol. Mostly new players, sometimes older players as well. If new players join the server and didn't read the rules(most don't) and saw you and your friend fighting each other and killing each other over and over, they're probably gonna think that it's fine. Then oh look, they're killing other students and we're getting reports.

I get your point but people make excuses and want to do what they want, which is why we have rules in place and why people get warned about the rules so that the behaviour discontinues. If we allow one situation, then why don't we allow another? and it opens up a whoooooooole can of worms. Also the idea of "if it doesn't bother anyone, what's the problem" could apply to literally any rule on our server, then it gets even worse.
