All disciplinary staff should be aware of this simple audio option.
Step 1: have GMOD open and go to audio settings.
Step 2: uncheck the box that says "Silence audio while game window is in the background (this is checked by default)
Step 3: apply, select ok, and have a great day!
You will now be able to listen to what happens in-game, even if you are tabbed over to the staff discord and reading the logs, even cycling through spotify, browsing the internet, or any number of infinite reasons.
I would say that this option should be made known for GMs to learn, but not obligated for them to implement, as they may need to tab out for a conversation to instruct event participants on teamspeak or discord and have some quiet- they're also not required to take disciplinary sits.

REASON FOR THIS POST
Many staff and players already have this unchecked already! But you will be surprised at how many people don't. And there's plenty of people saying mods are allowing severe rule breaks to happen in front of them when this may not actually be the case!- I am raising awareness of this because if you are tabbed out, and this is checked, you will not be able to hear what's going on in-game.
- Your presence on server is a resource that players depend on and look up to, making it so you're able to hear what happens in-game when tabbed out is important.
