Volunteer Staff Application Terms & Conditions

These Volunteer Staff Application Terms & Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity (“you”) and Star by Star Gaming ("Company", “we”, “us”, or “our”), concerning your volunteer services on any of our services and or platforms such as and not limited to, our websites, game servers, any other media form, media channel, console or PC application, mobile website or mobile application related, linked, or otherwise connected thereto. You agree that by posting this application and or responding to application question (1.) with "Yes, I do agree to these terms and conditions.", you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all of these terms and conditions. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ALL OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, THEN YOU ARE EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED FROM APPLYING FOR A VOLUNTEER STAFF POSITION AND YOU MUST DISCONTINUE YOUR APPLICATION PROCESS IMMEDIATELY.

You accept and understand that you are not any form of an employee, contractor, or agent of Star by Star Gaming. You accept and understand that the volunteer services you provide will be a donation and under no circumstances will you expect wages, salary, or benefits from Star by Star Gaming for the services provided during your time as a Volunteer Staff member. We reserve the right to remove or let go of any volunteer staff member for any reason and at any time at our sole discretion.

Any and all actions, including and not limited to, player and or user punishment, such as issued bans or otherwise on our game servers, websites, or other platforms, as well as any statements made by you, or any behavioral misconduct, does not express the views of Star by Star Gaming and are conducted at your sole discretion. You agree that all of these are of your own and you withhold full personal responsibility. Your actions, behavior, and or statements will be taken or given at your sole discretion and you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless, including our subsidiaries, affiliates, and all of our respective officers, agents, partners, contractors, volunteers, volunteer staff, and employees, from and against any loss, damage, liability, claim, or demand due to the outcomes of your gross negligence, willful misconduct, actions, statements, and or behaviors or any other conduct on your behalf, which cause or may give rise to criminal liability while performing volunteer staff services for Star by Star Gaming.

IN NO EVENT WILL WE OR OUR DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, VOLUNTEERS, VOLUNTEER STAFF, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFIT, LOST REVENUE, LOSS OF DATA, OR OTHER DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR VOLUNTEER SERVICES, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

These Volunteer Staff Application Terms & Conditions can and may be updated at any time without notice at our discretion, so be sure to frequently check back for any updates to these terms and conditions. An effort to inform you that they've been updated will be made, but not promised, so it's your responsibility to periodically check back. By posting this application and or responding to application question (1.) with "Yes, I do agree to these terms and conditions.", you are accepting and agreeing to these terms and conditions indefinitely regardless of any changes or amendments to these terms and conditions unless or until you are no longer a Volunteer Staff member. If at any point you no longer agree to these terms and conditions, you must immediately resign from your Volunteer Staff position and cease to continue your volunteer services immediately.

Please do not remove or delete these terms and conditions from your application, otherwise your application will be considered and declared void.

(2a) Please provide the hours of the day that you are the most active on the Galaxy of Magic server according to CST (Chicago, US), so the managers and staff know when they can expect to see you. -

(3.) What is your age? - 17

(4.) Approximately, when was the first time that you joined our Galaxy of Magic server and how did you initially discover it? - I joined GOM at the start of this year and i found out about it from one of my friends

(4a) How can we be certain that you will remain active on the server upon being accepted for a volunteer staffing position? –
With all the new prestige’s I am willing to put time into the server rather than playing other games

(4b) Do you understand that you can be let go at any time for excessive inactivity at our discretion? – Yes I do understand

(5.) Do you understand and agree to not only comply with, but also enforce the rules of the server when necessary? – Yes I do agree

(5a) Please explain each of the main server rules and what they each mean, to convey to us that you understand and comprehend them wholly.
1. No fail RP: FailRP is something that your character would not be able to do, the rule applies for any player/character
2. Be respectful: To be respectful to others, To not harass, stalk or instigate drama. To not use any form of Hatespeech
3. No RDM: No killing without a valid rp reason.
4. Obey staff and RP leaders: To always follow the hierarchy set in place. To do as your told (within reason).
5. No free-spelling: Freespelling is considered when a spell is casted that can cause them to not move, slow them down, not being able to cast etc.
6. No metagaming: To not use any knowledge u gained Out of charater/roleplay in character or to your advantage
7. Do not mic spam or chat spam: Mic Spam is when someone is playing music into their mic, To yell or scream into their mic. Even having a poor quality mic in some cases can be considered Mic Spam
8. Telemail is for RP purposes only: Telemail is used for RP announcements such as RFDs, Selling snatches
9. No ERP: No sexual or erotic roleplay
10. No exploiting or cheating of any kind: Using any 3rd party softwares to Monipulate your GMOD, Another Example is pasting a command in console to bypass the AFK kick system

(6.) Tell us a little about yourself and why you would like to be accepted for a volunteer staffing position on SBS. (100 words or less)

Im Rump im fairly new too SBS, I joined around January/February of this year. I feel getting accepted would be beneficial for the players and the staff team because my activity on the server is pretty good. Due to the resignation of a few staff members the server is seeing much more frequent PLAWs. I have a heap of spare time on my hands to be on during the day. I also have experience staffing on the server when I was helper and being a staff manager on a DarkRP server.

(7.) In your opinion, which quality of yourself do you feel that you need to improve on the most? –

In my opinion one thing I can improve on is my patience. I can get a little frustrated at times but I know its something I got to improve on.

(7a) In your opinion, which skill set of yours do you feel that you need to improve on the most? –

I feel i can definetly be a bit more professional when it comes to handing out punishments and just in general

(8.) How would having you on our volunteer staff team benefit our server and what qualities set you apart from the rest of the applicants? –

I feel my activity would be extremely beneficial for the server and make sure the server isn’t having such frequent PLAW’s

(9.) Have you ever previously maintained a game server staffing position, or currently are, on any other Garry's Mod servers? If so, which ones, and in which staffing positions? (List them if possible) –

Staff Manager – GGS.SX

(10.) Have you ever previously been banned on any Garry's Mod or SBS servers? If yes, then please list approximately when, how long, and the reasoning(s). – I Was banned once when I first joined the server, it was 3 days long.

(11.) In your opinion, are the server staff or the players of more importance? Why? –

I feel they are both as important as each other. Less players mean less staff and without staff the server goes wild

(12) How would you rate your skills overall out of 10 (E.g., patience, response time, etc.) –

Patience – 8

Response time – 10

Moderating – 9

Communication – 9

(13.) If you find yourself in a 'staff-sit' where you're unsure of how to fairly distribute punishment and or handle the situation or discrepancy at hand, what do you do? – Put a message in @ chat and if their isn’t any other staff I would message the staff discord

You both understand and realize, that by applying for a volunteer staffing position on the wserver, you are sacrificing the complete freedom of being able to role-play and or socialize freely all the time without any interruptions, and are obligated to handle all server issues and or volunteer staff position tasks at hand no matter the situation and to the best of your abilities? – Yes I do understand

This man plays on 16hrs a day, I think he wound make a huge addition to the staff team as they're missing mods and especially ones as active as Rump. A big +1 for this app

Rump was my staff manager when I was Admin on the Jogwarts server. I couldn't have asked for a better person to lead our once in a lifetime staff team.
The SBS staff team needs a man of his talents on the roster.

Not gonna lie though, you were good when you were a temp mod (helper).
You are active asf in a time zone in which has little to no staff, big bonus right there. Only downside in my eyes is the amount of time you spend AFK on the server.
The team could use assistance in the time zone that you are active, as much as I know this is an AU application, you spend a lot of time in the early NA period, whereas staff get on in the late NA hours.

Pretty active and cool dude to be around, but the amount of drama and arguments you get yourself involved in is concerning, which I'm fairly positive was some of the feedback given to you when you got your temp mod app denied. Since then you've cooled down but I'd personally be more open to giving you a positive vote in a few more weeks.

Something else that concerns me a bit is how often you play and the very long sessions in a row you do. It would be amazing to have a staff member that could achieve this, but you'd 100% burn out really really fast, and that's something the team doesn't want to happen to you.

Lastly, this might be super unfair to assume, but I definitely believe you're a leaking risk. Not because you'd purposefully leak to anyone, but because the people you seem to hang around with are pretty manipulative and will eventually get something without you even realizing. This is what I believe you're going to be subject to if you become a staff member, so please be careful with it.

Overall, Neutral. I'm 100% willing to chat with you about my vote.

The Staff Team needs more Staff

I know the server isn't popping at these times, But that's just because everyone is waiting on new map

If you made this in a few weeks I'd give you an easy +1. However, there were some concerning things said in your helper vote and hopefully that feedback has been given to you. I have personally seen you being helpful on the server and it appeared to me that you were working hard to make things better for yourself.

I am also concerned about how often you play. Staffing was very exhausting when the server was high pop. I also don't want to see you make SBS most of your life. There are so many players and staff who gave too much of their time to SBS and it deteriorated their mental health.

Lastly, I feel you should put some more time into your application. Many of your answers were very short and I'd like to see you elaborate a bit further.

You were very informative to me bro while you were helper and a big reason why I wanted to try it out too. You know the rules and are on a lot in the server. I wish you the best of luck neutral to +1 for me! As far as what people have said about you it doesn't really phase my opinion about you really at all but I would say just try and stay out of the drama and if you are given this position don't overdue yourself. Prove the people wrong ykwim?

HUGE -1. Your description of the rules is lacking, and weren´t you the guy harassing other people and switching jobs to Headmaster in order to abuse your RP powers?

I find it very hard to believe you changed in just a few months and you are now a Holy man. You were banned for harassing a player and in your ban appeal I remember you saying that you did so because the player was drunk (lmfao) as that would excuse you going after a player ingame for 2 hours or so?

Then in regards to your skills you state you have high levels of patience and then you state that you get easily frustrated. A bit contradictory much?

Your patience was not high enough at the time to prevent yourself from harassing a player for 2 hours or more straight non-stopping, you even encouraged other players to break server rules. Imagine what would happen if you got upset with a player (if you were to become full moderator) you would also encourage other players to break server rules or ignore the ones who break them like you did 2x months or so ago as a player? This is very concerning at least for me

I would change my vote to Neutral because you were already an helper and you certainly have some experience/staffing background to possibly become a great moderator in this server (I would need to play on the server to see if you actually changed but I have my doubts)

And I have consulted with Sybil and she assured me I would not get forum banned for posting this, and because I want to be as toxic as always and completely honest I do have to say the following: you are "friends" with two players whose ingame names I am not going to name (in order to not be forum banned) and these two players threatened to doxx some other players who were in a voice channel over on the Hogwarts discord (when the gmod server got taken down due to a copyright claim or something like that).

These two players with whom you are "friends" will get community banned in the near or farther future (hopefully) and IF YOU still are friends with them, I would heavily encourage you to stay away from them.

These two players whose ingame name I am not going to say (only thing I can say is that one of them is a male and another one is a female) even said that because the server was taken down that they would not care any longer and that they did not give a fuck if they were to be community banned!

This situation even though it is not your fault (directly or indirectly) makes me not trust in you, as you may understand and comprehend. I understand you have previous experience in staffing (as staff manager on another server and as helper in a previous server) and that would benefit but I dont trust people who are friends with people like that.

Hey Rump!

So, going over my past experiences with you as helper and as a normal player

I have full confidence in that you would make a wonderful moderator. You have

always, from what I seen treated myself and others with respect regardless of

the situations. I do however agree with those who brought up your friend group.

I'm well aware that you are your own person, but certain people are well known

for being super manipulative and/or will have you pocket modding to make sure

things go in their favor. I'm not saying that you for sure would fall victim to that

but please use caution especially if your application is accepted.
