Have "/me" visible on the character, not the chat box

For real though, I think since it's really only useful in the raising hand situation I think having even more text on the screen (because rest assured, some people would definitely spam long /me messages just to have it pop up and clog the screen) I think having some other way to raise hand in a way that the teachers can see it better would be a more appropriate option. Perhaps make a spell out of it that just every student role has? Like make a spell that creates a balloon/cloud type of thing above your head for 10-15 seconds so teacher can easily notice it. Or make a swep or just some type of toggle on/off thing? Idk how it would work but since animation binds still work when you sit, you could perhaps come up with something.
As of now my vote is NEUTRAL, I just think this particular solution could cause a lot of screen pollution but I agree something should be done

I get your point Lizzie, and I thank you for your input here.

But I do think the whole "raises hand" thing is just a small part of this. I think more things like "/me gives evils", "/me crosses fingers" or "/me winks" would be what I think it would be used for.

Chat spam is already a rule break, and I'm alright with people getting punishment for abusing it. E.g "/me @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@"

I only really made this suggestion as I noticed most people don't see a lot of the "/me" emotes, and is at times quite annoying having to look at the chat in order to see them

Not only with would be a mess with the spamming, but it would most likely make a lot of people's fps lower, and this game is already pretty good at doing that.

Well I just wanna say I honestly don't think /me emotes that are adressed towards a group of random players are that commonly used except for /me raises hand. Personally I read the chat all the time and literally all /me emotes are rather adressed at specific people who know to expect them and read the chat so they see them without needing this. That's my experience at least. I don't think it's necessary for the whole hallway to see when I use my bind /me hugs when I meet a friend on the server, all /me binds are similar type of thing I'd say, adressed at the interlocutor and not necessarily important in a broader rp context. I enjoy the bit of privacy the small range gives and it's not even erp that would be a bit ruined if /me emotes were all over the screen, it's these small personal interactions like hugs or pats or something like that, that people all around would definitely just comment on/scream erp, it happens already with the small range so I only imagine it would be worse with that type of thing implemented

Not a bad idea, but there always is the problem of a misuse of a system like this. It'd be nice, but I am worried about too much spam. /me raises hand triggers a hand raise emote is still on my list, but making the animation and linking it isn't a priority.

I'm going to move this to accepted, but I am not accepting this. I'm making it a talking point with Guy.
