If we're going to change their names, we shouldn't base it on singular mythology. The spell names should be straightforward and clear. The old names were easy to remember because not only did we learn those from the 8 movies and books that we all grew up with, but they were based on Latin. Some English words came from Latin too and it's easy in some cases to link a certain name to an action.
You don't have to name a spell something weird to make it a real spell. For example, naming what previously was Fumos of "Smoke Bomb" or "Fumes" isn't going to make the spell any less magical or realistic to the server's current lore or concept. It's easy to remember and people immediately get the idea of what the spell does just from the name.
As of right now, if a new player joined the server and opened the spell list menu and saw all those spell names they would be intimidated by it. They would have no clue about what they mean, and would have a hard time understanding and or remembering them.
I hope my opinion was clear about my stance on the spell names. There was a lot of stuff that was changed that I personally didn't think was needed, but I'm glad that Guy is taking some feedback from the community and making those happen.

Thought that grabbing a previous reply that I have posted could help other who might have ideas for the current server spell names. This was from MooMoo's suggestions thread where I listed to the left side the current server spells names with their old respective names, and to the right side are suggestions that I proposed. Please feel free to grab the list and propose your own ideas.
Some of the spell names are just straightforward, and others I took inspiration from DND. Since we have the liberty to pretty much do whatever we want without any sort of lore restrictions and we're on our very universe now, we can literally name them some random crap that would fit the spell's purpose, which I ended up doing with a few spells like Yeetus (previously known as Everte).
