(1.) What is your SteamID? - STEAM_0:1:68518867

(1a) What is your most recent ingame name? - Scar Struck Leto

(1b) What is your current year level in-game? (MUST be 7th to apply.) - Prestige 3 Year 6

(2.) What Timezone do you live in? - PST

(2a) Please put what times you are most active in CST (Chicago US), so the managers know when they can expect to see you. - 12 PM - 8 PM

(3.) How old are you? - 22

(4.) When did you first join our server and how did you discover it? - I joined in April, and I discovered it through my love of Harry Potter and Youtube!

(4a) How can we be sure you will stay active and loyal (with your time) to Star by Star? - I've been playing for two months almost every day, I really enjoy the community and this is a fun way to be social.

(4b) Do you understand you can be let go at ANY time for inactivity? - Of course.

(5.) Do you understand and agree to not only comply with, but also enforce the rules of the Server when necessary? - Yes.

(5a) When listing the rules please explain what they mean to show that you understand them.
 List Rules below:
1: No Fail RP - This rule is in place so that we can all have a fun Hogwarts-related RP experience. When you don't follow along with RP expectations it breaks the immersion and ruins the enjoyment of the game for others. An example would be if you are an Astronomy Professor, and instead of teaching that subject, you decide to spend the whole class period talking about McDonald's. Another example would be if you decide to have your Prefect detention someone who is not breaking any rules for your own interest.

2: Be respectful towards other players and staff - This rule is in place so that we can all have a drama free, positive RP experience. Examples of breaking this rule would be targeted harassment, hate speech, disruptive / obnoxious behavior...

3: No Random Death Match (RDM) - Random Death Matching means to run around killing other players for no reason. When this happens it usually creates chaos and confusion among other players. Everyone should have a valid roleplay reason for RDM'ing someone so we can keep the RP experience civilized. An example of not having a valid reason would be going into the courtyard as a student and freespelling random players until they die. An acceptable roleplay reason would be if you are a Light Force and witness a student being snatched and want to rescue them.

4: Obey Staff and RP Leaders - This rule is similar to number 1. There is a hierarchy of roles that are structured in a way to facilitate the best RP experience. It is important to follow the ranking to keep your roleplay and gaming experience working.  An example of breaking this would be if you are a student and a Prefect asks you to stop freespelling but you refuse and continue to do what you want. The prefect in that situation has the authority over you to make sure you are following the rules. You must also listen to the staff members. When they ask something of you, it's expected that you follow their suggestion/direction.

5: Do Not Freespell (without a valid roleplay reason) - Simply put, this means you shouldn't go around casting spells (usually damaging) unless you have a purpose for it. When you do so, it signals to other players that it might be fine to do, which could lead to more freespelling. An example of a valid roleplay reason would be if a Prefect uses Stupefy to try and catch a student who has a Detention On Sight. An invalid reason would be a student wanting to practice Verdimillious in an active classroom.

6: No Metagaming - You shouldn't use information that your character wouldn't readily know to help you in the game. The most popular example of this would probably be a student looking at another player's character title and calling them out. This usually happens with unrevealed snatchers who are students until they reveal themselves. Another example would be to use outside communications such as Discord to help you in game with information you wouldn't know otherwise.

7: No Microphone / Chat Spam - Just like it sounds, this rule means you may not spam the chat with text or annoying clutter. You may not use your microphone to spam loud noises, scream, play music, or to do anything else that could be considered disruptive & obnoxious.

8: Owlpost is for RP Purposes Only - The Owlpost chat (/op) is only to be used with a valid RP reason or as an RP Leader with a message. An example of this would be if you are the Transfiguration Professor and you would like everyone to know what time your class is beginning and whether or not you would like to activate PTS (permission to speak).

9: No ERP - No Erotic Roleplay. This means no engaging in sexual activities on the server, no sexual innuendos, or sexual names. An example of ERP would be two students in the back of an active classroom moaning into their microphones and alluding to performing inappropriate acts with each other.

10: Do Not Avoid / Exploit the AFK System - You are allowed to AFK for a certain amount of time. If you need to take longer than that, the game will kick you after a certain time. Do not avoid the kick by toggling your character into moving, which tricks the system into thinking you are interacting with the game and then AFK'ing to restart the timer. An example of exploiting this would be to do the previously mentioned method to grind for XP. You are not contributing to the roleplay experience and could possibly be taking up a player spot on the server.

(5b) Expain what the term "minge" means, when referring to a player on the server - A minge is someone who has no desire to participate in the RP experience and they enjoy disrupting it for others. An example of this would be someone logging on to mic spam and interrupt a professor teaching in an active classroom. A second example is someone logging in with an offensive name and spamming the chat with obnoxious messages to get a reaction out of the players.

(6.) Tell us about yourself and why you want to be staff on SBS? (100 words or less) - I'm a HUGE HP fan and I've never really played a RP game before, but upon finding this community, I've grown attached. I would like to be staff because I enjoy the community and would love to be apart of maintaining a positive and fun roleplay experience not just for myself, but for everyone!

(7.) What do you feel you need to improve on the most? - I think I need to be a little more analytical when it comes to making the right decision when a problem arises.

(8.) How would having you on staff benefit our server and what sets you apart from the rest of the applicants? - I'm really dedicated to this server and would truly like to see it keep thriving. I'm very understanding and patient to hear people out and focus to remain unbiased at all times.

(9.) Have you been staff/are currently on any other servers? If so, which ones? (List them if possible) - No.

(10.) Have you ever been banned on any Garrys Mod/SBS servers? If yes, then please list when, how long, and the reason. - No.

(11.) Are the Server staff or the players more important? Why? - They are both important, but the players are a bit more important. If there are no players, there is no need for staff. However, if there are players, it is important to have staff that way things don't get too out of control.

(12) How would you rate your skills overall out of 10 (EX: Patience, response time, etc) - Out of ten, I'd rate myself an 8. Patience is something I always strive to have and I would rate myself a 9 on it. Response time I'd rate myself a solid 8, there's always room for improvement! Fair judgement I would rate myself an 8. I always try to fully understand a situation before acting!

(13.) If you do not know how to handle a situation in a mod-sit, what do you do? - I would check the Compendium first to see what it says about the specific situation. If I was still stumped, I would reach out to a fellow staff member on Discord. If I wasn't able to get a definitive answer I would use my best judgement to determine an outcome that resolves the situation in the best way possible.

(14.) You understand and realize, that by applying for staff on the server also means, that you are sacrificing the complete freedom of being able to RP freely all the time without any interruptions, and are obligated to handle all server issues at hand no matter the situation? - I understand this.

(15.) Please make a list of all previous staff applications, a link to them, and the reason they were locked. If they were accepted, please give a short explanation of why you are no longer staff. (Disregard if this is your first application) -

I would hate to think that you think I'm actually "arguing." The rules can sometimes be misinterpreted, and I always try to fully understand them with whoever I'm speaking to. I have no problem admitting if I've done wrong, I want to be better! So if you ever see me in /ooc going over the rules with someone, please know I'm doing it to educate them, myself, or anyone else who may be involved/concerned. =)

About the offended part, I REALLY do not want to have any grudges with ANYONE in the game. Maybe at first when I started and didn't know the rules/players. But now it's easier to tell those who are here to have fun and have an RP experience, and those who are here to do their own thing. There is nothing wrong with the latter, it's just I tend to give them their space. Holding grudges against people in a game is not something I want to do. Once again, sorry if you feel that I misrepresented myself that way. If you have any more concerns, let me know! I'm glad you brought it up.

Scar genuinely wants everybody to have a good time and knows the rules very well.

I see them online every night playing for multiple hours and often playing as prefect and keeping order when prefect law is active.

+1 from me

A genuinely good person. One of my dearest friend, he tells me nonstop his love for RP and his desire to make sure everyone is having fun. It’s definitely a +1 for me and be more than happy to have him someone moderating a game I enjoy
