Looking to join a custom job!!

So the reason for me posting today is I'm looking for a custom job to apply for because I'm looking for an enriched RP experience, and want to join particular groups that center around RP and families. Im not looking for OP roles. To be honest I don't care what it is as long as it's something I can try RP with.

If I had to choose a preference I would like a custom role that centers around Prefects I would particularly enjoy that as I do like to spend my time on Hogwarts helping people and helping out people with server rules/ and showing people around Hogwarts as Yogi. Again if its not that's not a problem as I enjoy all aspects of HogwartsRP.

If you hold a custom job role and you are looking for an active, mature player (I'm 27 years old) who will do everything he can to uphold whatever duties that role may entail then I'm the person you're looking for. I also have discord and a mic so I'm willing to hop on every day and chat with you guys daily. I'm currently unemployed at the moment so i have a lot of time in my day to go on the server and be as active as I can.

I'm not fussy when it comes to custom jobs, so whatever you have I will accept graciously. If you want to talk to me about this you can reach my discord King#4769 or send me a message on the forums. I look forward to your messages.

Just get to know people bro, someone inevitably will throw one your way.

pretty much this

play with the intent of enjoying the game, not with the intent of getting on customs

I agree with Con here. Custom job owners want to have people on their jobs who have full intention to RP, not just for the job itself.

Take some time to get with the game, get well known around the community and maybe one day you’ll get one :)

Your best bet is getting to know folks in the community. I can lay out a few examples from personal experience in hopes that this helps you on your journey.

1. Your best bet is getting to know folks in the community, but don't be a nag. Don't go around asking for whitelists, as that's not likely to bring about the results you're looking for. I did ask to be whitelisted to a few customs, but was only accepted by those who have known me, and spent time with me in game, and on discord.

2. Make sure you are a member of the community in good standing. What I mean by this is that you aren't a minge, or a perpetual rule breaker. I was recently whitelisted to four customs through one person who saw me as a positive addition to the community and offered a few customs in this light. I asked him to be whitelisted to a few back in November when I started playing regularly, and he didn't feel inclined to offer those jobs to me until about 3 weeks ago when he saw a consistency in my behavior in-game. Some of this shit takes time.

3. Track down a few customs in the compendium that you like, and ask around about their owners and focus on those. There were probably 15 jobs I would have loved to been whitelisted to, but I narrowed it down to about 4-5 and just stayed in contact with those owners from time to time letting them know every so often that I was still interested in an effort to remain at the forefront of their thought processes, so I wasn't forgotten. Don't overwhelm yourself with so many choices.

4. Offer to pay for upgrades to jobs you want to be whitelisted to. Of the 8-9 customs I am whitelisted to, I was privileged to be whitelisted to 2 on the agreement that I would help pay for upgrades in the future. This can amount to a couple hundred dollars collectively across whitelisted individuals, but it's attractive to owners.

5. If all else fails, you can apply for a custom job by emailing the owner of the server. I will tell you that this is the most expensive route. I have one custom that I own personally, and I went in half with my co-owner. I paid over $300 for half of the jobs elements (wand, spells, animagus, player model), so it does get expensive, but if you find someone willing to buy into your vision and go in on the job with you, it can work out more favorably.

6. Just enjoy your game time and don't worry so much about the customs. This is probably the best advice I can give. I was crazy on the hunt for customs at one point, and I'm sure I got annoying to some owners, but I ended up deciding to just enjoy the game, while casually putting my desire to be added to custom jobs to their owners and moving on. Sometimes those owners come back with a sweet deal at a later time, sometimes they don't, but if you're just enjoying yourself it doesn't really matter what happens.

I hope all this helps. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me on discord: Petinisaur#1021
