These Volunteer Staff Application Terms & Conditions constitute a legally binding agreement made between you, whether personally or on behalf of an entity (“you”) and Star by Star Gaming ("Company", “we”, “us”, or “our”), concerning your volunteer services on any of our services and or platforms such as and not limited to, our websites, game servers, any other media form, media channel, console or PC application, mobile website or mobile application related, linked, or otherwise connected thereto. You agree that by posting this application and or responding to application question (1.) with "Yes, I do agree to these terms and conditions.", you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by all of these terms and conditions. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH ALL OF THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS, THEN YOU ARE EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED FROM APPLYING FOR A VOLUNTEER STAFF POSITION AND YOU MUST DISCONTINUE YOUR APPLICATION PROCESS IMMEDIATELY.

You accept and understand that you are not any form of an employee, contractor, or agent of Star by Star Gaming. You accept and understand that the volunteer services you provide will be a donation and under no circumstances will you expect wages, salary, or benefits from Star by Star Gaming for the services provided during your time as a Volunteer Staff member. We reserve the right to remove or let go of any volunteer staff member for any reason and at any time at our sole discretion.

Any and all actions, including and not limited to, player and or user punishment, such as issued bans or otherwise on our game servers, websites, or other platforms, as well as any statements made by you, or any behavioral misconduct, does not express the views of Star by Star Gaming and are conducted at your sole discretion. You agree that all of these are of your own and you withhold full personal responsibility. Your actions, behavior, and or statements will be taken or given at your sole discretion and you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold us harmless, including our subsidiaries, affiliates, and all of our respective officers, agents, partners, contractors, volunteers, volunteer staff, and employees, from and against any loss, damage, liability, claim, or demand due to the outcomes of your gross negligence, willful misconduct, actions, statements, and or behaviors or any other conduct on your behalf, which cause or may give rise to criminal liability while performing volunteer staff services for Star by Star Gaming.


These Volunteer Staff Application Terms & Conditions can and may be updated at any time without notice at our discretion, so be sure to frequently check back for any updates to these terms and conditions. An effort to inform you that they've been updated will be made, but not promised, so it's your responsibility to periodically check back. By posting this application and or responding to application question (1.) with "Yes, I do agree to these terms and conditions.", you are accepting and agreeing to these terms and conditions indefinitely regardless of any changes or amendments to these terms and conditions unless or until you are no longer a Volunteer Staff member. If at any point you no longer agree to these terms and conditions, you must immediately resign from your Volunteer Staff position and cease to continue your volunteer services immediately.

Please do not remove or delete these terms and conditions from your application, otherwise your application will be considered and declared void.

(1a) What name and or alias are you most commonly known as within the SBS community? -

(2.) Which volunteer community staff position is your application for? -

Hogwarts RP Server Manager

(3.) Approximately, when was the first time that you joined our community and how did you initially discover it? -

2018, through Garry's Mod itself. 

(4.) Community staff are held to a much higher standard both in general and with activity when compared to standard game server staff. In this case, do you understand that you can be let go at any time for excessive inactivity at our discretion? -

Yes, I do.

(4a) How can we be certain that you will remain active on the server upon being accepted for a volunteer staffing position? -

Unlike other people that are applying, I play the server for fun and I have a great time playing. By applying I am gonna ensure that everyone else also has fun while playing, the position doesn't lure me because of the power it gives me, but the opportunities and the lots of things I can do in such position that can hopefully help the community as a whole!
(5.) Tell us a little about yourself and why you would like to be accepted for a volunteer staffing position on SBS. (100 words or less) -

 I am mostly known as Walden, I am a reformed minge that used to play the SBS Servers just to troll and make everyone have a bad time, with time I saw the consequences of what I did and tried to improve. I can happily say that I changed, I haven't got a warn for rule breaking in 5 months and that itself is a proof that I changed. Most people will consider this a joke app but it really isn't.
I have lots of experiences at managing servers (As listed in Question 8) and I feel like that is something really important specially for such a high position at a huge community like this.

(6.) In your opinion, which quality of yourself do you feel that you need to improve on the most? -

Toxicity is something I need to improve, although I said I am reformed, there were still a couple of incidents which showed my "before" self and that annoys me, but that won't affect my staffing as during the period of any staff role that I take, I am completely unbiased and I wouldn't change my attitude towards anyone due to past drama.

(6a) In your opinion, which skill set of yours do you feel that you need to improve on the most? -

Communication, I feel like communication is key when working in a community. That's because in a community everyone matters and by communicating we can hear everyone's opinion and discuss between each other to work for a better environment in the community and a better flow of how things go in it. I feel like I need to improve that and hopefully I can do that. 

(7.) How would having you on our volunteer staff team benefit our community and what qualities set you apart from the rest of the applicants? -

As I stated question (8), I have been manager on a multiple number of communities and that helps a lot in any decision taking or any tasks that require experience which is a key for any managing position. I also have a very wide knowledge on Harry Potter Lore and although the server isn't a Serious RP Server, we can't go that far from the Lore as it would take all the sense from the server.

Also the fact that I won the Horcrux Hunter Whitelist from Guy in the Yearly Giveaway, which ensures that I have a very tight connection with Guy and that's essential to have a bond between the Server Manager and the Owner as it is a very high position.

(8.) Have you ever previously maintained a game server staffing position, or currently are, on any other Garry's Mod servers? If so, which ones, and in which staffing positions? (List them if possible) -

I have been staff on way too many servers to list but I will include the most successful ones in my opinion:
Community Manager: Benjis RP (Closed)
Staff Manager: Excaliburn Network (Current: Server is currently in Development.)
OG Kinfo Gaming: Staff Manager (Closed)
Kinfo Gaming 2.0: General Manager(Current: Server is also currently in Development.)

(9) How would you rate your skills overall out of 10 (E.g., patience, response time, etc.) -

Patience 7/10 
Organization 6/10
Reaction Times 9/10

(10.) Provide a couple of examples of situations or issues you may encounter and how you would handle them in the position you are applying for -

First, I would like to note a couple of things that I would add/change in case I get the position and in case I don't get the position this can be a suggestion for the up coming Server Manager

Community Meetings or Community Nights would be held in a specific discord server at a specific date that would be discussed later. The Meeting would consist of both Staff and Members of the community in which they would discuss a certain community issue/suggestion. That would help create a bond between the community and the staff, and also create a more welcoming environment for any members in the community looking to be heard.

Points that could be held in a Community Meeting:

- Discuss and Clarify Server Rules
- Discuss and Clarify Ban Lengths 
- Discuss and Clarify Compendium Changes
- Go over any suggested additions and take opinions
- Clarification on Job Rules or/and Faction Rulesets
- Lookover any unbalanced or  game breaking Rulesets or Compendium Loopholes.

In my point of view, the new compendium has way too many flaws and loopholes.
There's way too many unstated rules, and that's a big mistake since the staff members will still punish for those unstated rules, causing many unfair warns/kicks/bans.
That's not on staff hands since their job is to enforce all server rules stated or unstated.
In case I get the position, and even If I don't get the position I will be hoping the upcoming server manager does the same, I would create a new compendium based off the old one filling all the unstated rulesets/rules/job rules and change what should be changed since the compendium is a bit unoptimized.
The new compendium must contain: 

- All Server Rules including all the Grey Area rules with No Exception
- All Job and Custom Job rules with No Exception
- All Faction Rulesets with No Exception
- Updated Name/Prefecting and Owlposting Rules
- Any more suggestion regarding the compendium would be collected during the first Community Meeting.
- Input some corrections on the Hatespeech Rule

(11.) If applicable, please provide a list of all your previous volunteer staff applications, provide a link to them if possible, and list any reasons why they may have been locked. If they were previously accepted, please provide a short explanation of why you are no longer volunteer staff at the time of this application. (Disregard if this is your first application) -

I won't deny that I contributed to the increase in the abuse of Dragon Sweps, along with other members of the community, heck even staff members.

But the thing is, that it was ages ago, and we should always believe in second chances since we all make mistakes, the way I use dragon nowadays is too Loop Bunny Hop and not to dodge hits. Although some may still consider that exploiting or abusing I believe it isn't since it's the same effect as Carpe.

I think the new compendium, and I will add to it if I get the position, needs a section pointing out all the sweps that can be abused and be handled and punished as a rule break until it's fixed.
