Still absolutely no reason given as to why Etlenor was banned lmao. I'm guessing they just don't care anymore. Looking forward to being proven wrong.
Couldn't have said it better. I do appreciate the time and effort that was put into making Galaxy of Magic; but if I'm being honest, it was never going to work.
Why?
The Name
The reason Hogwarts RP worked so well is because of, well, the name. I remember scrolling through the server list in 2016 and seeing Hogwarts RP. I had no choice but to join. I'm sure we can all agree that if we were scrolling and saw "Galaxy of Magic," none of us would have joined. Potential new players have no idea what that is.
The Gameplay
Gameplay-wise, I'm going to be blunt. It's a colorless, soulless, reskin that won't do any numbers in terms of population, donations, and YouTube views (which helps attract new players). New players were excited to get sorted into Gryffindor. They can't be expected to share the same level of enthusiasm about being sorted into Kratos.
The Map(s)
While I can't criticize the unfinished maps too much, I can say that they'll never stack up to rp_hogwarts_sbs simply because of the name. New players wanted to explore the Forbidden Forest knowing the dangers of Voldemort and his Death Eaters. No one knows the lore of, or cares about the Void Overlord and his Void Disciples.
Hope this didn't come off as rude. I'm only saying this because I want to see the community make a comeback. The "Galaxy of Magic" name is not the answer.
