Starbright University of Magic | Map Progress

Hate to break it to you bro but the entire thing that made the server appealing was the Harry Potter aspect, and with that gone, no map no matter how good is going to bring the server back to its glory days.

I'm not a hater either, I was one of the OGs who played on the first map, and I played for 1000s of hours and was Admin at one point, but I'd be lying if I said I'd come back to the server just because it got a better map.
The server just won't be the same without all the characters and spells and whatever else from Harry Potter. Believe me, I'd love to be proven wrong and for the server to pop off again, but I just can't see that happening.

I also think you're making the same mistake you made with the 2nd Hogwarts map. I preferred the OG Hogwarts map because it was much smaller and condensed everybody into a smaller area which promoted socialization and RP interactions, but the 2nd map was so big that you could walk around for a solid 5 minutes and not even bump into one other person, it really felt desolate, empty, and downright depressing at times.

I think the map needs to be smaller and designed in a way that promotes interaction. There should never be a point where you feel like you're the only person in the entire school. There should be people around every corner, so it actually feels like a proper populated school. The 2nd Hogwarts map had far too many big open empty spaces that you never really had any reason to go to. Yeah it looked nice and was lore-accurate, but that doesn't mean it was good for RP. This map looks like it's doing a lot of the same stuff, it has a lot of rooms that *look* nice and would be cool to explore, but after that, there's really no reason to ever go back to those places, so half of the school will feel abandoned.

Again, I actually hope that I'm proven wrong. I didn't spend 1000s of hours on this server for no reason.
